Payday Advance Loans: Friend or Foe?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=David_Casey]David Casey Payday advance loans go by many names, however, the premise is still the same. Payday loan companies provide short-term loans for approved applicants that are repaid on the day of their next paycheck. The purpose of payday loans is to help people meet their financial obligations between pay periods when unexpected expenses throw off their monthly budget. The payday loans range from one hundred dollars to approximately $1,500, depending on the company offering the payday loan. Typically these loans have very high interest rates and some have additional fees. For borrowers in a temporary financial bind the interest rate and fees may be acceptable to them so they can get through their temporary financial hardship. There are some borrowers, however, that use these payday loan services in an attempt to stretch paychecks in an endless cycle. Rather than using payday loan services to get through a temporary financial hardship, they are using these loans as part of their overall budget. The danger of using payday loans for this purpose fill the pages of a number of websites, including websites like Payday-Loans-Cheap-Fast.ORG that discuss payday loans, but do not offer them in an attempt to educate borrowers before they take out a payday loan. There are a number of men and women who found themselves digging a deeper financial hole by taking out payday loans in an attempt to dig themselves out of the financial hole they were already in. High penalties, very high interest rates and other fees can bury someone already in a tough financial situation and that is why many organizations are doing their best to educate consumers before they turn a bad situation worse. Though payday loans can certainly assist many consumers during a difficult, short term financial hardship, they can quickly add to that hardship if they are overused or become part of the consumer’s overall financial planning. Handling Depression

By Janae Wentworth Depression may often be initiated by high levels of long term stress, by failure associated with stress - related under - performance, or by life crises. Deep depression is a clinical illness and should be treated medically. It is important that if you are depressed, that you take this seriously. Severe depressions that can cause years of unhappiness and low performance can be neutralized quickly with drugs, by the appropriate form of psychotherapy, or by other forms of personal action. An important part of intelligence is knowing when there is a problem, and when to ask for help. Depression may start when: >> You miss important deadlines >> Projects fail >> You are passed over for promotion >> You feel out of control >> You are very tired >> You are feeling inadequate while getting to grips with a new, difficult job >> You are bored for a long period of time The following points may help in handling depression before it gets serious: 1. An important way of guarding against depression is getting your attitude right: positive thinking really can help. As long as you can draw useful lessons from failure, then failure can be positive. 2. Similarly, talking about problems to a partner or to a respected colleague, can often help a lot. They may have been through a similar situation, seen the problem before, or may be able to gently point out that you have the wrong perspective on a situation. 3. When you are under stress caused by excessive demands, using effective time management can improve things. Similarly, taking an enjoyable break may reduce stress. 4. When you are not under enough pressure, you can set personal challenges to increase stimulus. If you are already suffering from a mild form of depression, then the following suggestions may help you to deal with it: 1. Self - confidence: where lack of self - confidence is a factor, there are a number of things you can do: >> Start to set personal goals. This will help you to give yourself direction in life, and will help you to acknowledge that you can achieve useful and important things. >> Write down a list of your negative points. Challenge each item on the list objectively, asking yourself is this fair?, or is this really serious? You should find that many of your negative beliefs are wrong or insignificant. When you identify serious failings, set measurable personal goals to eliminate or neutralize them. >> Similarly, bring your anxiety and negative self - talk up to the surface of your consciousness. Ask yourself whether it is realistic to worry about the things you worry about: if you have no control over them, then worry does no good. When you look at them rationally, you may find that worries are irrational or out of proportion. >> Write down a list of the things that you can do well, and the positive parts of your personality. Ignore virtues like humility and modesty - these are not good for your self - confidence or well - being. Be proud of your good points - they can help you to contribute positively to the world. 2. Positive thinking: almost all apparently negative experiences have positive elements to them. Learn to identify these positives: this will help you to draw the best from every situation. Even failing at something can be an intense and valuable learning experience. 3. Relationships: You may find that the root of problems lies with: >> Assertiveness: if you are failing to assert yourself, you may find that other people are not paying attention to your wants and needs. This can be upsetting and humiliating. Learn to express your wishes firmly, but only be confrontational if absolutely necessary. Assertiveness training can be beneficial in learning to do this. >> Social Skills: if your relationships are difficult, then you may identify that difficulties lie in the way in which you deal with other people. In this case some form of social skills training may be beneficial. Alternatively, if you can identify where things are going wrong, you may be able to set goals to overcome the problem. >> Other People: it is easy to assume (especially when you are depressed), that the fault in relationship problems lies with you. This may or may not the be the case. Examine your relationships rationally: you may find that people around you are causing problems - there are some extremely rude, awkward, arrogant or confused people in the world. If people are making your life worse, then you may be better off without them. >> Standards: you may find that you have set your standards unrealistically high. This will typically occur where you believe that a certain standard of achievement is necessary, but where you do not have either the financial or time resources available to achieve those standards. In this case, it may be realistic to assess the standards that you can reasonably achieve within the set constraints, and aim at these. >> Fatigue and exhaustion: If you are very tired, or have been under stress for a long period, you may find that a good break helps you to put problems into perspective. Job-Hopping? Beware

By Mahalakshmi Prabhakaran Job seekers never had it so good. Innumerable opportunities, escalating salaries and recruiters consistently ringing in with even better opportunities.., the job scene today is brimming with optimism. Despite all the hope that it holds for job seekers, this period of excess, has had its fallouts. The most visible one being the birth of job-hoppers. Job hoppers are individuals who find it really difficult to commit to one job for a significant period of time. An inveterate job hopper is always on the look out for a change. Reasons for this behavior may vary from serious reasons like lack of growth opportunities to paltry excuses like lack of excitement or plain boredom. Do you identify yourself with this situation? On an average, if you have changed 3 jobs in 2 years or if your resume looks like a travelogue with a lot of stopovers over a period of years, you may want to take a breather and stay put in the current job for at least a yr. While your argument that the job scene never looked so good, may hold true, there are reasons why you should think twice before making that immediate jump to another seemingly attractive job. The long-drawn effects may affect your job prospects at a senior level, when what matters to your employer is your experience, record of stability and degree of commitment to your job. Staying in a job for a significant period reflects your dedication to the job at hand. It makes you look like a person committed and sincere to your work and organization. On the other hand, staying in a position for less time might have the employer questioning your loyalty, seriousness and ambition. Unreliable, Insincere, Unstable, Unable to work with others, may be some of the monikers that will be attributed to you, because of your fleet-footedness. In effect, a busy resume is like a red alert to prospective employers, making them think ten times before hiring you. Critical reasons why you should not indulge in rampant Job hopping: 1) Can be a heavy dampener if you are looking to become a VP or CEO someday. As you go higher, the jobs get more challenging with demanding deliverables and targets. While recruiting people for Senior positions like VP, CEO, MD or CFO, recruiters look out for people who have stood their guns and have delivered on their job. If your rsum reflects your instability, employers may be compelled to reject you on the simple reason that you have had “short” stints and havent proven yourself well-enough. They will also be forced to assume that employing you may be a costly mistake! 2) Frequent relocation also affects your networking ability. How can you expect to make, leave alone sustain valuable friendships and acquaintances when you flit from one job to another. You are so busy sifting through jobs that you don’t have the time to make friends who may be of help to you later. In short, not having any contacts not only reflects your poor social skills, it also affects your ambitions in the long run. 3) Loyalty pays. As a noncommittal employee, you end up missing out on a host of benefits that organizations pay their employees on a long-term basis. Employee retirement plans, health insurance benefits, social security etc are some cumulative benefits that accrue over a period of time and require stable investing; a privilege you may not be able to indulge in, if you are constantly on the move form one job to another. 4) First impressions matter. A busy resume makes recruiters suspicious about your competency and intentions, notwithstanding your talent. Further, a bad resume may end up with recruiters passing you up for a less-capable yet steady candidate. 5) Can hamper your personal life. The constant shifting form one job to another will end up disturbing your personal & family life and can leave you reeling with no constant support system in place. Industry experts opine that job -hopping in the early years of the career is understandable and a fact they tend to gloss over while interviewing candidates. This is because, entry level candidates are , in a gestation period, busy trying to find their “niche”. Job hopping at the middle-level should be done but very judiciously. A good enough period for you then is anytime between 3-5 years. “Take a leap, but only if there’s a safety net” is the professional advice that career professionals recommend to anyone looking for a productive career. What this means is while there may be opportunities worth taking risks for, a seriously career-minded person should undertake a strategic job-hop only after careful planning. Here are pointers you need to keep in mind if you are considering yet another change: 1) Consider what is in it for you. When presented with an opportunity it is important for you to consider what the job offers you with regard to skill enhancement, growth opportunity, experience, changes in personal and professional life, job satisfaction apart from material aspects like salary hike, SOPs, insurance benefit etc. If the opportunity satisfies you on all the important criterion, take up the job. Else, it would be wise to stick on with your current job for the time being. 2) Have a valid reason for changing. Recruiters will give you a chance to explain your reasons for not sticking to your jobs. Make use of the opportunity by giving convincing and sound reasoning. 3) Try to walk the straight line. This means when a good opportunity comes along, check to see if the profile is in your desired career track. So, if you have been working as a HR executive for while and the new opportunity wants you to shift lines from HR to finance or BPO, take a reality check to see if the job will put your talent and experience into use. If it however means that you have to start the process all over again and hone absolutely new skills, it is advisable to take a back seat and let the opportunity pass by. 4) Always go one step ahead. Take up a job only when you know that it is advancing your career. If your current job profile is an executive position and the new opportunity makes you s manager, take it up. But in doing so, it is important for you to keep things and perspective and accept the job only if you are sure that you can deliver on it. 5) Finally, take a conscious decision to stay on the new job for at least 2 years before considering your next move. Habits die hard, yet once you have accepted the new job take a conscious decision on your first day to stay in the job and derive the utmost benefit. What are the Essentials of High Quality Loose Leaf Tea?

By Jon Stout Demand for high quality loose leaf tea is experiencing strong growth and for those interested in high quality loose tea, more information will aid in decision making. Critical elements in the process include: Source of the Tea Manufacturing Processes Purchasing, Quality Control and Customer Service Source of the Tea All tea comes from the plant Camellia Sinensis but there is where the similarity between high quality loose leaf tea and other, lesser quality ends. From the time the tea leaves are plucked until the time the consumer tastes the brew, a number of critical events affect the tea experience. High quality loose leaf teas are carefully selected as only the finest of these rare orthodox teas, which are processed slowly and hand-crafted with extreme care. Tea, like wine, is harvested and processed into the final product on the grounds of the garden or estate. The taste and quality of any tea varietal depends upon the specific growing conditions. Factors such as altitude, climate, soil, weather, and plucking season all affect the final product. To produce just one pound of quality loose leaf tea, it takes approximately 3,000 hand plucked leaves. Only the most tender leaves and young buds are selected. After the leaves are picked, the precise art of tea making begins. Manufacturing Processes Tea is manufactured by two different processes. Most ordinary tea is machine processed by the C.T.C. method (crush, tear, curl). The resulting small, broken pieces are used in tea bags or iced tea concentrates. Less than 2% of the world’s tea is of superior quality, hand-processed in the classic, time-honored method known as orthodox manufacture. High quality suppliers are dedicated to offering outstanding, whole-leaf teas of the greatest quality and finesse. Whole-leaf varietals retain the subtle nuances of flavor so prized by discriminating palates throughout the centuries. The highest quality loose teas are hand-plucked and meticulously crafted to enhance leaf character, aroma, color, clarity, body, complexity, and above all, flavor. Connoisseurs will find no soggy paper tea bags and no trendy herbals from high quality loose tea suppliers; only real tea from the Camellia Sinensis bush. And, of course, only the finest. Purchasing, Quality Control and Customer Service Access to high quality loose leaf tea is the final element. Most loose leaf teas are not available in retail outlets. Nevertheless, quality tea is easily available through e-commerce outlets on the internet. Increasingly e-commerce over the internet has proven to be an efficient and easy way to purchase quality products and those e-commerce sites that are customer friendly also offer convenient and low cost home delivery. Loose leaf tea is ideally suited to e-commerce because it is light and easy to transport. When evaluating e-commerce sites, the consumer should consider those sites that are interactive, easy to use and offer rich features such as auto shipping, multiple destination shipments, gift shipments and delivery flexibility. The loose leaf tea experience is all about quality and quality does not end with manufacturing. Those suppliers that are truly dedicated to quality will maintain quality control over each shipment received from the producing tea garden. Since almost all quality loose leaf tea comes from other countries such as China, India, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and others, choose a supplier who cups or tastes each shipment before acceptance. This measure of quality control will guarantee consistent quality but most loose leaf tea suppliers skip this important step. Check with a potential supplier to determine their cupping commitment. In addition to quality control, customer service is a critical element in the loose tea relationship. Since the purchase of high quality loose tea tends to be a long term relationship, consideration of the needs of the customer and customer satisfaction is paramount. The best suppliers have a culture of customer service, open lines of communication to customer service personnel and solicit feedback from customers as a way to maintain consistent quality. Jon M. Beauty and Fragrance: Look Gorgeous Every Day of the Week

By Chris Robertson When choosing women’s perfume, facial make-up, hair care and skin care products, be sure to select those that best fit your personality and schedule. You are unique, and so are your skin tone, hair texture, and body fragrance. What works well for another might not work well for you. So, let your individuality come to life when choosing beauty products. Here’s how. Skin Beauty — Deeper than You Think! You’ve heard the phrase, “Beauty is only skin deep.” But, is it really only skin deep? Let’s delve beneath the surface and take a look at what’s beneath the skin that you and others can see. Every day, you probably put at least a thin coating of foundational make-up on your face. Perhaps you use powder to remove the shine. Then, you put on lipstick, eyeliner, eye shadow, blush, etc. You spray hairspray on your hair, and it most likely ends up on your face without your realizing it! All this beauty “stuff” clogs your skin pores. So to bring out the true beauty of your facial skin, you should take time each day to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize your skin. It’s like giving yourself a mini-facial every day. Do this at night before going to sleep to give your face a break from the daily “beautifying” routine. Women’s Fragrance Tips Find that perfect fragrance that works well for all occasions - work, parties, dinners, and even love and romance! But, be sure to choose only one fragrance if possible. Using two or three women’s colognes can cause a fragrance clash if you’re not careful. The scent of one fragrance can get into your clothing, skin or hair, and totally change the scent of the other. To choose a great women’s fragrance, search for women’s cologne or women’s perfume that blends well with other beauty products you may use on a daily basis such as hairspray and shampoo, make-up, lotion, etc. It’s best to eliminate all other fragrances if planning on wearing perfume or cologne. Choose unscented lotions and hair care products for the best results. Also, choose a women’s fragrance that is subtle and pleasant. Your personal body space is within an arm’s length from others. Beyond this point, no one should be able to smell the fragrance you are wearing. Choose a great fragrance that does not have a strong scent, and then wear it sparingly to avoid overkill. Where to Apply Women’s Cologne or Perfume Dab just a little of your perfume or cologne on various areas of your body, from the feet to the shoulders. Since fragrance rises and disappears, it will rise from your lower body and become noticeable to those closest to you. Keep in mind that these things can affect how your body reacts to certain fragrances: diet, skin type, beauty products you use, clothing detergent, and your home’s usual scent. So, try out your new fragrance at several locations to make sure it still has the scent you want. Buying Skin Care, Hair Care, and Fragrance Products The availability of beauty products has increased tremendously over the years with Web stores opening up everywhere online. You can often find all the products you need online - and at a discount. There are men’s fragrance products such as men’s cologne, women’s perfume or cologne, skin care products, hair care products, etc. available that you can buy for yourself or as a gift any time of the year. Use these tips to find the perfect beauty and fragrance products for you - and captivate everyone that comes around! How to Finance a Business For Your Son or Daughter

By David Skul First, how not to go about it: A cash loan is not the way to go. Neither is signing as surety for a bank loan A gift of the amount required? Again, not the best approach But these are the three most common but wrong ways by which parents try to help their children get started in business. So what is the best way? For US residents and citizens, Internal Revenue Code 1244 provides the answer. If you give your daughter $50,000 say to start a new venture, and the business goes belly up with the loss of the $50,000, there is no way that the IRS will allow you to claim this loss as a deduction. Or suppose you loan her business $50,000. Again, if things do not work out, the business will keep paying you the interest until it runs out of cash, leaving you with a worthless note. Tax-wise, you have a capital loss, which is deductible at the pitiful rate of only $3,000 per year against your ordinary income. Or you can use the loss to offset capital gains. The same sad tax fate, a capital loss, results if you sign as surety and must pay Sue’s $50,000 loan from the bank. Tax-wise, a gift to your daughter is even worse. The $50,000 is hers. As a result, the tax loss is hers, not yours. Under the circumstances, chances are that Sue has little or no income, and the loss is almost totally wasted. Note too that a loan or a bank surety is often questioned by the IRS. Why? The IRS contends that the $50,000 was a gift because you never intended to try to collect in the first place. You had no reasonable expectation of being repaid is the way the IRS puts it. But now lets look at IRS Section 1244 the right way. Section 1244 allows you to claim an immediate deduction for a loss on stock in a small business corporation. Your loss is fully deductible against ordinary income, rather than a limited capital loss. And you can claim a maximum Section 1244 loss of $100,000 (joint return) in a single year or $50,000 on a single return The maximum amount you can claim as a Section 1244 loss in a single year is $100,000 on a joint return or $50,000 on a single return. So instead of a gift, a loan or a bank surety, you and your daughter set up a corporation for her new business. You get $50,000 of stock in the corporation that qualifies for Section 1244 treatment. Your daughter, who runs the business, draws a salary If the business succeeds, your daughter can gradually buy back your stock (or, better yet, you can gift it to her) over time. Any profit you make on the buyback will be a low-taxed capital gain. If the business fails, your loss will be fully deductible under Section 1244 (up to the $100,000/$50,000 limits). Here’s another nice thing about Section 1244: The tax benefits are easy to get. The beneficial tax treatment is automatic and no written plan is necessary. A final point: Section 1244 is the way to go not only for your kids, but also for your spouse who might want to start a new business. And the same strategy applies if you want to venture into something new while keeping your present business. SEO Solutions and one-way link publicity services provided by Link Acquire. How to SELL Without SELLING, and Sell MORE

By Erik Carter After test driving the car, I sat down with the salesman. He pulled out an invoice and asked me what options I wanted. “Aren’t we going to discuss the price?” I asked. He put the invoice back into the drawer, and said, “Look, if you’re not interested, someone’s going to come in to buy that car.” So I went down the street to another dealership. I told the salesman specifically I wanted an automatic, because I had never driven a manual transmission. He told me that the only car that had all the specifications I requested was a 5 speed. When I told him that I didn’t want it, because I couldn’t drive a manual, he said, “Our manuals are the easiest in the world! Here, let me show you!” And he gave me a 15 or 20 minute lesson in driving a 5 speed (which I picked up pretty quickly). I told him I wasn’t sure I wanted a manual, and that I was going to keep looking at other cars. He gave me his card and said to call him if I still wanted the car later. I test drove other cars, and ended up buying the 5 speed that this salesman taught me to drive. Building a relationship with your customer is the best way to sell your product or service. The first salesman could not care less about me, or a relationship. The second salesman took time to help me out. The second salesman got the sale. When I needed a new car a few years later, that particular company was my FIRST stop. And I bought ANOTHER car from that company (albeit at a different location). And I have recommended these cars to all my friends. Establish relationships with your online customers, and they will buy from you repeatedly. And they will build your list, by referring their friends. And they will tell you what they are looking for, so you won’t need to send out questions and do teleseminars. Manage your customer relationships, and you can free yourself from the gurus. ERIK CARTER’s focus is on improving your relationships with ALL aspects of your life, including maintaining START YOUR LIFE NOW! Acupuncture and Alternative Treatments for Asthma

By Kevin Doherty Asthma affects approximately 20 million Americans every year. Conventional treatment options are limited to steroid inhalers and bronchodilators. While these medications are effective in relieving the symptoms of asthma, the side effects of continuous long-term treatment can be severe. There are numerous natural strategies to consider for chronic asthma that can offer effective treatment without the side effects. The following is a list of nutritional supplements and herbal formulas to consider for asthma: Supplements Quercetin: Recognized as one of the superior flavonoids because of its marked antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Quercetin is known for its ability to stabilize mast cells and help control allergies. If the asthma is directly related to allergic reactions, then quercetin is an excellent supplement to try. Grape Seed extract: A strong antioxidant that is also very good at reducing inflammation and breaking the chronic pattern of allergy-induced asthma. Cod liver oil: High in essential fatty acids, cod liver oil reduces inflammation, promotes healthy circulation, and is generally strengthening for immunity. MSM: MSM is an organic sulfur-containing nutrient, a naturally-occurring compound in the environment and in the human body. Sulfur is necessary for the structure of every cell in the body. Hormones, enzymes, antibodies, and antioxidants all depend on it. Because the body utilizes and expends it on a daily basis, sulfur must be continually replenished for optimal nutrition and health. MSM has anti-inflammatory properties. It boosts immunity and is helpful for allergies. Chinese herbs Ginseng and gecko: A Chinese herbal formula (ren shen ge jie san) that clears heat and phlegm from the lungs and strengthens both lung and spleen Qi Ding chuan tang: The most widely used herbal formula for asthma, ding chuan tang can be applied to all kinds of asthma. In particular, if the asthma is exacerbated by the onset of a cold, this formula works well. Jade Windscreen: A Chinese herbal formula (yu ping feng san) that can be combined with one of the above formulas to add another support in strengthening immunity and boosting lung function. Acupuncture Practiced for over 2,500 years in various cultures throughout Asia, acupuncture has enjoyed a long history of treating internal medical conditions. Acupuncture can be very effective in the treatment of asthma. Acupuncture helps to reduce inflammation and balance the major organs that are contributing to ones symptoms. In Chinese medicine, asthma can be caused by a variety of factors including stress, diet, allergies, candida infection and constitutional weakness. All of these factors are related to different internal organs that are causing the lungs to constrict. Acupuncture theory involves combining the patients symptoms with pulse and tongue diagnosis to get a clear picture of the bodys inner workings. Acupoints are used on the corresponding meridians that will balance any energetic or functional disharmonies. Adjunctive therapies are also very helpful for asthma, such as cupping and gua sha. Diet The main strategy for asthma sufferers is to avoid foods that provoke inflammation in the body. At the top of this list is the whole class of refined sugars and carbohydrates. Any food that converts into sugar very quickly in the body is going to cause inflammation. Many asthma patients report a marked improvement in their symptoms simply by taking this step. In Chinese medicine, the lungs share a close relationship with the large intestine. Intestinal toxicity can cause a whole slew of internal problems, including asthma and allergies. If there is a history of constipation, then a cleansing approach is useful to detoxify the colon, which will indirectly benefit the lungs. A high fiber diet that is rich in fruit and vegetables is the key. Flax seed, prune, pear, ripe banana, and herbs such as rhubarb root are helpful colon cleansers. Deep breathing Anytime the asthma is in remission, I recommend undertaking deep breathing exercises as much as possible. Ujayi breathing in yoga is a very helpful practice for building lung capacity and strength. This is a long, exaggerated breath that is coordinated with each asana (yoga posture). Many of the chest opening asanas are healing for the lungs as well. Pranayama exercises such as the one minute breath and alternate nasal breathing are beneficial, especially is done on a daily basis. The one minute breath involves inhaling as slowly as possible for as long as possible, holding for as long as possible, then exhaling for as long as possible. Try to build up to a full minute of doing this. Alternate nasal breathing involves plugging one nostril, then inhaling deeply through the other, switching sides, then exhaling slowly and fully, inhaling deeply, then switching sides. This can be repeated several times. If your stress level is high, then I recommend learning how to meditate for 15-30 minutes per day. If you need help with this, please click here. Chronic asthma can respond very well to any one of the therapies mentioned above. I have found that combining these therapies offers the most comprehensive approach to rejuvenate the lungs.
